In March 2010 the new State of the Art Intensive Care Department in the University Medical Center in Utrecht, the Netherlands will be opened. The new Intensive Care has 36 private rooms. Safety, daylight, privacy, space, innovation and patient-centered care have been our main aims in the design of the new department.

Honoring the opening of the new Intensive Care department a symposium in Utrecht on the 15^th of April 2010 is held. The title of the symposium is “Intensive Care 2020” aiming to focus on future developments.
